Position:                     South Bay Campus Director of Children’s Ministry

Department:              South Bay Campus

Supervisor:                 Josh Hall | South Bay Campus Pastor

Direct Reports:           Children’s Coordinators and Volunteers


Position Summary

The Children’s Director is responsible for leading a team of volunteers in shepherding the lives of kids at the South Bay Campus.  The goal of this position is to grow our children and support the parents by creating spiritually formative experiences and providing meaningful discipleship relationships. This position will manage the Children’s Ministry volunteers that minister to kids on the weekends and during strategic events and programs throughout the year and partnering with parents and the Campus Pastor to help serve and develop children ages 0-5th Grade.




  • Oversee all classroom environments, paid and volunteer staff for children ages 0-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-10, 10+
  • Ensure all environments are safe, fun, and appropriately developmental for kids
  • Utilize Fellowship-1 Children’s check in to manage classroom space and child safety
  • Partner with security team to ensure adequate supervision in and outside classrooms
  • Provide leadership and expertise in children’s ministry to paid and volunteer staff to grow the ministry (including reaching new families) and to grow the children involved in the ministry
  • Develop a comprehensive ministry vision, strategy and operational plan for children and their families
  • Advocate for children’s ministry across departments and groups at MPPC
  • Collaborate with Campus Pastor, Children’s Champion, and Children’s Directors at all campuses to execute common ministry strategy and utilize the Orange Curriculum and Philosophy with kids
  • Develop systems to recruit, train and retain volunteers for the weekend ministry to kids
  • Team with partner ministry areas (middle school, high school, worship, etc.) to ensure a cohesive community that cares for children and families

Position Qualifications

  •  Design special events to reach and spiritually form children and families
  • Strong believer in Jesus Christ with a heart for kids
  • Must have experience in discipleship and spiritual development of children
  • Must have experience in building and managing volunteer teams
  • Must be able to manage resources.
  • Personal humility and a heart to serve



Work Schedule

This position is 40 hours per week and requires working on Sundays, some weekday evenings and major holidays (Christmas/Easter)
