Position:                     South Bay Campus Worship Director

Department:              South Bay Campus

Supervisor:                 Josh Hall | South Bay Campus Pastor



Position Summary

This staff member is responsible for leading and designing worship services that glorify God and partnering with the Campus Pastor in Campus pastoral leadership.




  • Lead worship for up to 2-3 services per weekend
  • Design services in collaboration with the Campus Pastor and Worship Champion
  • Oversee the design of special services including Christmas and Holy Week services
  • Develop and shepherd the weekend volunteer teams: music, production and set-up
  • Develop and shepherd leaders for weekend teams: music, production and set-up
  • Manage scheduling of and communication with volunteers in Planning Center Online
  • Prepare music, click and loops weekly
  • Direct efficient and meaningful rehearsals
  • Direct the technical expressions of the worship experience (lights, audio, cg, etc.)
  • Manage paid support contractors (audio, etc.)
  • Share up-front leadership and communication responsibilities with the Campus Pastor
  • Support the Campus Pastor by assisting with pastoral duties
  • Rotate leading worship through other MPPC venues as a part of the MPPC Worship Leadership Team



Position Qualifications

  • Servant and pastoral heart, natural leader
  • Strong musical abilities, strong communication skills
  • Bachelor of Arts in Music or equivalent experience
  • Must have knowledge of and experience in worship leadership in various settings
  • Must have experience in discipleship and spiritual development
  • Must have experience in building and managing volunteer teams
  • Proficiency in Finale, Sibelius, Logic, Ableton Live, Planning Center, & Pro-Presenter preferred.
  • Strong believer in Jesus Christ with a heart for worship
  • Personal humility and a heart to serve
  • Brings a non-anxious presence in a creative environment while maintaining productivity
  • A strong sense of professionalism



Work Schedule

This position is approximately 40 hours per week and requires working on Sundays, some weekday evenings and major holidays (Christmas/Easter).
