In the spring of 1987, Mike and Grace Moore followed God's leading to start a brand new kind of church in the community of Manteca. The church began with seventeen people as a home-based Bible study group. Today, Crossroads Grace continues with the same
vision and mission that prompted Mike and Grace Moore to start the church. Literally at the crossroads of California, Crossroads Grace is a flourishing church community of nearly 2,000 people attending Sunday services, with hundreds of people making decisions
to follow Jesus Christ.
The Lead Pastor of Crossroads Grace Community Church will be the primary face of Crossroads, both in the church and in the community. As a leader, the Lead Pastor will provide leadershp to the church and staff team, and work closely with the Pastoral Management
Team. He will develop the leadership of both staff members and lay leaders. He will cast vision and help develop strategies to accomplish God's future work at Crossroads.
As a teacher, the Lead Pastor of Crossroads will have excellent communication skills to accompany a strong grasp of the Bible. This will enable articulation of the timeless truths of Scripture for clear application in everyday 21st century living. His genuine
communication will reveal an authenticity and humility that desires to live out what is preached. People in the church will sense a real conviction and passion in the messages.
The successful candidate wll have 3-5 years of experience in a large ministry setting. They will have a proven track record of success in leading a team. They will be able to draw from real world, life, family, loss, and tragedy to be able to effectively
pastor hurting people. This person will be a leader of leaders, who cultivates and grows the leadership potential of Crossroads. This leadership will also be seen in the ability to cast vision for a preferred future. A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably
in a related field. The ideal candidate would also have a seminary degree.
Manteca is literally located at the center of California, both north-south and east-west. It lies at the crossroads of major highways and railroads that traverse the state. Manteca, known as "the family city" was founded in 1861 and incorporated as a city
in 1918. The current population of Manteca is 72,000, and future growth looks certain, as additional housing developments and industrial complexes are being built. Located in the richest agricultural valley in the United States, Manteca has hisorically been
a community built around agriculture. However, there is an increasing business presence, as well as many residents who commute to the San Fransisco Bay Area for work.
With its central location, Manteca offers easy access to the coast of California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Napa Valley, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Manteca is home to Bass Pro Shop, and also a 38-acre sports complex called “Big League Dreams” which
features replica Major League ballparks such as Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and Yankee Stadium.
