Job Description:

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Position Status: Full Time, Regular-Exempt

Position Summary: Primarily responsible for the development, direction and oversight of the Youth Ministry as it ministers to young men and women from sixth through twelfth grades.


Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop a youth ministry that reaches, builds, and equips Jr. and Sr. High students

  • Establish and maintain personal relationships with individual students in order to minister,

    disciple, and present Christ by means of maintaining availability as a friend and counselor, attending student events, and ministering to youth in the wider context of their family relationships

  • Develop and maintain communications with parents of youth

  • Develop and plan outreach activities and programs both locally and as part of a missions

    outreach program

  • Recruit, disciple, and train adult youth staff volunteers

  • Develop and manage the youth ministry budget

  • Demonstrate a team approach to vocational ministry by assisting in other tasks as necessary.

  • Is able to discern truth as revealed in the Word of God

  • Exhibits the qualities of leadership and teaching

  • Exhibit the qualities of caring for individuals (a pastor’s heart)

  • Be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality

  • Exhibits the qualities of a team player. Works well with others.

  • Exhibits the qualities of a “Life Long Learner” (reading, training, discussion of ideas)
