Position Summary

The Harvest is a vibrant, expanding church with a weekly average attendance of 650 people.  The church is located in Sienna Plantation, one of the fastest growing communities of Fort Bend County, Texas (Houston metro).


The Harvest’s Worship & Music Director is a spiritual, musical, and organizational leader who guides our worship ministries and leads our two contemporary style worship services and our blended style service.  The Director works with the pastoral staff to plan and design the worship services and has strong musical competencies as both a vocalist and instrumentalist.  The Director heads up our well-established, talented worship teams both musically and spiritually.



  • A strong testimony of faith and an active, mature relationship with Jesus Christ; dedicated to the spiritual growth of self and others
  • Theological beliefs and perspectives that are closely aligned with our church
  • Musically proficient in voice as well as guitar and/or piano (or keyboard); piano/keyboard a plus
  • At least three years experience in leading worship services with 300+ attendance
  • Experience with leading contemporary and blended style services; familiar with traditional worship styles and music
  • Skillful team builder and leader; recruits, develops and leads volunteers for all areas of worship
  • Musicality and leadership strength, not formal education, will be qualifying factors (but anticipate most candidates will have a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university)


Additional Competencies

  • Skillful use of worship technologies, including sound, lighting, worship planning software, and video projection
  • Aware of trends in contemporary and modern styles of worship and adeptly discerns best-fit applications for our worship settings and culture
  • Ability to learn and apply new music and techniques


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop the congregation’s worship services (Sundays, special worship days in Advent and Holy Week, and others) in consultation with the Senior Pastor and worship planning team
  • Organize and direct the worship team’s weekly rehearsals
  • Recruit, organize, coach, and develop worship ministry staff and volunteers (musicians, A/V technicians, others)
  • Grow and develop the worship team members through proactive music training and spiritual formation
