McLean Bible Church was founded in 1961, when five families came together to form a non-denominational church where the Bible would be taught. For three years, the church met in homes, schools, and other facilities until they finally got a building of their own in 1964, where McLean Bible Church remained for the next 20 years.

30 years later, Mclean Bible Church (MBC) has more than 11,000 people attending each week at its seven campuses in the greater Washington, DC area. McLean Bible Church's reputation in the community is pristine. With a vision and track record for reaching the lost, growing believers, and impacting the community, the church is poised for continued growth in the coming years.

The Rock Senior High is the High School Ministry at McLean Bible Church. At The Rock Senior High, McLean really wants to challenge high school students to take ownership of their faith and make significant strides in growing their relationship with God. The ultimate goal is that when a student leaves the High School Ministry, they leave it as a fully devoted follower of Christ. The High School Pastor at MBC Tyson will be responsible for all of the High School ministry activities and community groups at the Tyson Campus. The High School Pastor is expected to think strategically about the evangelistic growth of the high school group, while maintaining relationships with students and parents and working collaboratively with the Rock Student Ministry Team across all campuses.

The successful High School Pastor candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree in Biblical studies, seminary training, or divinity is preferred but not required. Strong preference will be given to those who have shown they have led, grown, and developed a growing student ministry in another church. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new members and volunteers. Proven experience in creative thinking, problem solving, and collaborative leadership in a fast-paced innovative environment is strongly preferred.
