The Financial Secretary's responsibility is to handle all bookkeeping for the church. This job is part time, 15 hours per week. Two times a year (budget season and IRS contribution statement preparation) there will be increased hours, which can be adjusted
with comp time.
Specific Duties: Count and deposit weekly offerings, maintain all receipts and disbursements records, maintain church checkbook and committee spending records. prepare checks weekly and post them, keep orderly file for paid invoices, adjust committee budgets
for changes as approved by Session, monitor all budgets, balance checkbook, maintain Balance Sheet for Special Funding accounts, prepare scheduled reports and others as requested, assist as needed in preparing Annual Statistical Report for Presbytery, prepare
and file all required monthly, quarterly, and annual tax forms, compile committee budget information and prepare final draft of the annual budget, assist Treasurer in any special projects that may arise, prepare semi-annual and annual contribution reports
for contributors, prepare memorial and honorarium acknowledgement letters, attend Finance Committee Meetings as requested, answer phones in Administrative Assistant’s absence and other duties as assigned.
