We are looking for a Children's Ministry pastor/director to take our Chidlren's program to the next level.  Pay will be the right amount for the right person to live in our area. We are a growing congregation with many young families.  COV was founded by the American Baptist Churches of the West but we are self-governing and essentially non-denominational.

TITLE: Director of Children’s Ministries   PURPOSE/SCOPE OF JOB: Provide leadership, vision, direction, training, inspiration and spiritual oversight of all ministries pertaining to the birth through fifth grades at COV.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Works closely with the family pastor for equipping, accountability and encouragement.



1.) Identify overall needs of children, parents and families of COV.


2.) Provide for a comprehensive program of Christian education for COV children.


3.) Develop and manage the implementation of the ministry to build and enrich Christian family life in ways that complement the churches specific ministry to children and families.


4.) Participate as a member of the pastoral staff, representing the area of children’s and family ministry.


5.) Recruit, train and manage the best volunteer Children’s staff in the San Ramon Valley.


6.) Study and analyze all available resources, curriculum and workshops and trends in Christian education for the purpose of implementing the best of these in the COV environment.


7.) Assist the Family Pastor, as requested, in planning for the participation of children and families in the Sunday morning worship service.


8.) See to it that all Children’s Ministry workers have gone through background checks and have been provided the “COV WAY” training to carry out all ministry required/expected of them.

  • Be unified in purpose. Work effectively with other ministry teams and ministry leaders.
  • Keep leadership informed of issues that may impact the churches ability to meet its goals.
  • Perform all duties to meet time and program requirements.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
