Director of Worship and Music

Eastminster Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce an opening for Director of Worship and Music.  We are a welcoming and family-oriented church of 600 members just north of Atlanta.  Eastminster is a biblically-conservative church, joyfully and winsomely proclaiming the gospel.  The church looks to its leaders to present foundational Christian doctrine and theology with good humor, enthusiasm, and faithfulness.  We worship in both contemporary and traditional modes, and use both styles of music.

We are seeking a full-time Director of Worship and Music to come and devote him/herself fully as a first priority to the worship experience of this church every Sunday morning, directing the choirs of the church and consulting the praise band.  The Director of Worship and Music will see him/herself as a minister of the gospel, intent on using music in the service of Jesus Christ to make disciples of all people.  His/her first priority and chief concern is making the most of the opportunities we have to worship God every Sunday morning in contemporary and traditional services.  The Director of Worship and Music works with the pastor forming the worship experiences through selection of hymns, praise songs, choral pieces, special music, and all other worship offerings in the ministry of praise.  This person must recognize that he/she is a leader in worship, placed before the congregation as a model of faithful worship and the Christian life.  In personal and professional demeanor, this person must be a model of Christian discipleship and meet the same requirements we would expect of an officer of the church.

Please refer to the job description and the “Ministry of Praise” paper both available on the website for further information.  Bachelor’s (minimum) required, with training in music for worship a plus, and five years experience in similar work.

Salary:  In range from $40,000-50,000, subject to education and experience, plus benefits.  Apply by Nov 28, 2014, to DWM Search Team, mail/email
