RCKids Director Job Description & Expectations

RiverCross Fellowship’s RCKids Director has a love for God, a passion for Jesus and consistently pursues the counsel of the Holy Spirit. This ministry Director is committed to embody the mission of the church; seeking to be a disciple who makes disciples. S/he has a warm personality that connects well with children and their parents, and is passionate to see both children and parents grow in their faith.  S/he demonstrates commitment to all aspects of RCF’s strategy for making disciples:  Together we LOVE and LEARN to LIVE like Jesus.


ROLE SUMMARY

The RCKids Director reports to the Lead Pastor of RiverCross and is responsible for:

  • providing leadership, administration, and development of the RCKids ministry
  • recruiting, training, shepherding, and leading the RCKids Team of volunteer leaders
  • all aspects of the Sunday morning RCKids program

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead spiritually (by example) in all situations.
  • Create a warm, loving, safe environment in which children ages 3 yrs. - 5th grade can learn about God and begin to develop a meaningful relationship with Jesus.
  • Develop a program in which children can learn basic Christian truths and a healthy, fun attitude towards church.
  • Oversee all aspects of the RCKids ministry, including development of a strategy for reaching new children and families, selection and development of curriculum, recruiting, training, scheduling, and leading volunteers.
  • Be a source of spiritual support and counsel to children, families, volunteers and staff.
  • Maintain licensing requirements.
  • Develop and administer RCKids budget.
  • Attend and participate in regular staff meetings and occasional Lead Team meetings.

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Other ministries as needed by the church and assigned by the Lead Pastor or Lead Team

 Qualifications/Skills Requirements

  • Vital and growing relationship with Jesus as evidenced by attitudes and behaviors.
  • Passionate love for the church and a solid commitment to the authority of Scripture
  • Member of RiverCross and committed to all aspects of the Membership Covenant
  • Regular participation in a Life Group
  • Excellent communication, time management, organizational, and strong leadership skills
  • Proven record of developing both individuals and teams of volunteers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and properly handle sensitive personal information
  • Flexible team player

 We anticipate that these tasks can be accomplished in an average of 15-20 hours per week.
