What’s the Current Worship Situation?
Gateway River Church (www.gatewayriver.com) was publicly launched in October of 2013 and the church has seen steady growth in the worship area. The new worship leader will be able to further develop a full band that is already in place. They are all quality
musicians and are good to work with. We are open to talking to a candidate who may be right out of college and/or seminary and helping them gain ministry experience, but we prefer if someone is local to the Cleveland area. The worship position is available
What’s the Background?
Gateway River Church is the fourth of the Gateway Network of Churches in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Gateway River Church is in a suburb of Cleveland called Westlake. The Gateway Network was founded by Alex Ennes, who left Gateway Downtown to start Gateway River
Church. Pastor Alex designed the network to help spread the Gospel through church planting. Each church is autonomous (self-governed), but help resource more church plants. All of them can be found by going here www.gatewaycleveland.com
Pastor Alex holds a degree from Ouachita Baptist University where he double-majored in Christian Studies and Music. His music degree (violin) helps him assist the worship leader as an encourager and understands the complexities that come along with leading
a group of artists (in our case a worship team). He has served in ministry with persons like Doug Pierce (Worship leader at First Baptist Church, Orlando) and Phillip Sweet (Grammy Award winner with country group Little Big Town) where they saw hundreds come
to know Christ. He is there to help the worship leader in whatever way he can, but has always valued those he served with by allowing them to lead and do what they do best.
What’s Your Worship Style?
We are certainly modern in our approach, but also value the great hymns written in the past. Our current worship leader, who is soon to be leaving us, can help any serious candidate understand more of who we are.
What Happened to Your Leader?
Great question and we’re glad you asked! Our leader came during our prelaunch phase of our church when we were meeting in a school cafeteria. He was to help us over the summer and for us all to see what happened. He did a great job and we asked him to stay.
He has been with us almost a year and a half. He feels that God is calling him to serve in another church closer to his home. It’s a good leaving, but a sad one. You can always discuss with him, or any other worship leader that Pastor Alex has worked with
to see how he related to them.
What's the Pay?
It is a paid, part-time position. That being said, we have opportunities for free housing that can be worked out. The pay will take into account experience and overall leadership ability.
How Do Apply?
Send your resume through Church Staffing and please include any videos of you leading worship.
