South Shore Baptist Church ProfileSouth Shore Baptist (SSBC) is a suburban church in Hingham, MA, south of Boston.  We are committed to the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word and Gospel in shaping our church, our ministries, and our lives.  SSBC is a church with six full-time and eight part-time employees. Our church averages 600+ in attendance in two Sunday services.  We have recently completed expansion of our church building and have a long-term vision of church planting, pastoral intern training, and serving as a resource to other local congregations.  SSBC is affiliated with the Conservative Baptist Association and has ties with 9Marks ministries.   Position OverviewWe are looking for an experienced man to serve as a full-time Executive Pastor.  This position will report to and support the Senior Pastor, oversee our paid church staff, and coordinate the work of our church’s ministries.  This individual should fit the following profile:Doctrine

  • This individual must be in agreement with our church’s doctrinal statement and affirm our membership covenant (see our website).
  • We desire a man who embraces reformed theology, and who has a vision for reformation by God’s Word in the local church.
  • We are a congregation with individuals from multiple theological and church backgrounds, and so this individual must be able to work effectively in that context while faithfully articulating a biblical vision for Christian life and ministry.

 Education and Experience

  • Biblical education and theological depth preferred
  • Proven executive, administrative and organizational leadership experience highly desired
  • Vocational church experience highly desired
  • Leadership experience in a larger, growing church highly desired.


Job Description

  • Support Senior Pastor
  • Empower Senior Pastor to use his gifts and fulfill his unique calling
  • Serve Senior Pastor and elders by implementing their vision and strategic goals
  • Oversee church staff
  • Supervise other pastoral, ministry and administrative staff
  • Responsible for goals, reviews, reporting structure, staff meetings, policies and other duties in conjunction with the Personnel Committee.
  • Coordinate the work of church staff
  • Develop church systems and processes
  • Manage and evolve the church infrastructure and processes for efficiency and scalability
  • Develop and evolve the church’s standard operating procedures and systems
  • In concert with Senior Pastor build an effective methodology for translating church vision and strategy into actionable programs and ministries
  • Coordinate Overall Church Ministry Program
  • Oversee overall ministry planning process
  • Coordinate annual budgeting process
  • Coordinate and integrate overall efforts of church ministries
