Description of Children’s Ministry Situation
The Children’s Department consists of children from birth to 6th grade. It includes oversight and involvement in the Nursery, Royal Rangers Program, Girl’s Ministry Program, Rainbows, a Sunday Morning service for Preschoolers, and a Sunday Morning service
for elementary children. This would also include oversight of any annual events for families (VBS/Kids Crusade/Easter Egg Run/Fall Festival/etc.) Successfully coordinating, equipping and working with a team of volunteers is essential. Raising money for
BGMC is also imperative. We also desire our children to be involved in and supportive of district events. We work off of a master calendar that we plan each year.
Sunday Morning Nursery:5-7
Royal Rangers: 10-15
Sunday Morning Pre-K:10-12
Sunday Morning Elementary Service:25-35
Description of Student Ministry Situation
The Student Ministry Department consists of students from 7th grade through age 25. It includes oversight and ministry to those in middle school, high school and college. The bulk of our program is currently handled through a wednesday night service that
encompasses the entire group. By nature the Student Ministry is very event driven with various activities needing to be planned throughout the year. There are two public schools and one private academy within 3 miles of the church and we have a great relationship
with the leadership of each. There is also a beautiful community college within 5 miles of our church. As a missions hearted church, raising money for Speed the Light must be a major part of the Student Ministry. It’s also to be involved in and supportive
of district events. We work off of a master calendar that we plan each year.
Wednesday Student Ministry Service:35-50
Student Sunday School:15-20
Description of General Church Situation
We are located just off US highway 84 in Monroeville, AL. We are 20 miles west of Interstate 65 almost directly between Montgomery, AL and Mobile, AL. We are approximately 90 minutes from each. We are a rural community with both a small town and small
city within a minutes drive. Our Lead Pastor focuses on relationships and desires our church to be a family care center where we all share the load of life according to Galatians 6:1-3. God’s presence and power are the center of each and every worship and
fellowship time. Our Pastor and his family have been here for three years and each year has been marked by numerical and spiritual growth. Over the past two years our overall church income has increased by over 25%. Our church is currently running between
250 and 280 in Sunday Morning attendance. We believe that God has already been dealing with the heart of the couple(s) that He wants to join our ministry team. You will find that our congregation is one of the most loving and willing groups of people that
desire to support and celebrate their staff. It is is also very welcoming to all new guests. We can be described as open to change, contemporary, family oriented, and anxious to move forward in creative ways to reach out to our community. The church has
a long history of being involved in missions and playing a meaningful role in the Assemblies of God fellowship. Excel Assembly is looking forward to continuing our God-ordained journey with the people he will add to our ministry team.
