Position Description: Worship Pastor


  • Meet the requirements of 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9
  • Express a call to Christian vocational ministry
  • Maintain high moral standards
  • Submit to the will of the church in accordance with the will of Jesus Christ
  • Submit to the leadership of the Pastor and/or his designee
  • Practice humility and repentance when in error
  • Keep a fresh and vital faith characterized by the display of Christian virtue and spiritual discipline
  • Possess musical skills to lead in congregational song and to develop and deploy musical groups as needed
  • Possess exceptional leadership skills to provide stable and well-informed congregational worship opportunities
  • Possess skills in teaching and discipleship in order to develop the overall spiritual growth of the congregation.
  • Practice hospitality and outreach
  • Possess technical know-how and graphic production sense necessary for producing bulletins, print media, video, and audio

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead congregational songs during worship times.
  • Develop congregational singing and worship leading opportunities
  • Deploy an evangelistic effort through musical production, choirs, bands, etc
  • Ensure the proper theological perspective is represented within song selection
  • Select music and style that reflects the congregation, avoids fads, amplifies praise to God, and follows the objectives of the pastor
  • Produce audio, video, and print media both during the service, and for the church’s advertising outlets, and for the weekly bulletin
  • Manage, maintain, and improve technical equipment and media personnel
  • Lead, supervise, and maintain the website, social media outlets, and other media-based efforts so that they accomplish outreach tasks and goals
  • Assist as needed in leading the discipleship tasks of the church
  • Participate in evangelism, administration and teaching tasks
  • Participate in regularly scheduled ministry training times
  • Work hard for the spiritual and congregational betterment of the church
  • Attend regular Sunday and Wednesday church functions and special events with your family
  • Report to the pastor on all issues, problems, liabilities, or successes that arise in the discharge of ministry duties
  • Maintain a yearly calendar of events
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned by the pastor
