Job Description:

Family Pastor to cultivate and oversee the discipleship (assimilation, spiritual growth and accountability) of the saints within the context of community.  Lead and oversee the Family Ministry Staff (Youth & Children’s Directors). Prepare, equip and counsel parents.  Implement a culture within the church that prioritizes, promotes, grows and cares for the family. Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities
•  Lead and oversee the Family Ministry Staff (Youth & Children’s Directors):
- Partner with and equip parents to be the primary disciplers of their children
- Create and implement family friendly Gospel-centered environments and activities
- Recruit and train volunteers to carry out ministry that assists parents in discipling their children
•  Prepare, equip and counsel married couples
•  Oversee the regular celebration of testimonies, baptisms, dedications, and all church gatherings, etc.
•  Implement a culture within the church that prioritizes, promotes, grows and cares for the family

•  Recruit, train and manage ODC Group and Class Leaders
•  Research, develop, and oversee Gospel centered curriculum for groups and classes
•  Work with the Lead Pastor and Elders in the teaching of sound biblical doctrine

•  Oversee the assimilation process and related communications from visitor to accountable Covenant Member
•  Work with the Administrator, (and volunteers) to host Open House Receptions
•  Oversee the management of the church database

•  Host and teach Covenant Membership classes and oversee membership process
•  Create a system of accountability for Covenant Members and exercise church discipline when necessary
•  Cultivate an environment where hurts can be shared and biblical conflict resolution is promoted

•  Assist Lead Pastor as a member of the Preaching Team
•  Assist Lead Pastor and Elders in pastoral care and counseling
•  Assist Lead Pastor by officiating weddings and funerals as needed


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must meet the biblical qualifications of a elder/pastor/overseer
  • Must have experience in discipleship and family ministry
  • Must pass a thorough background check
  • Must have a proven ability to train, motivate, organize and direct the work of subordinates and volunteers; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ministerial Degree and Bilingual are positive but not essential assets

Personal Requirements

  • Must have a testimony of salvation in Jesus Christ and be a Covenant Member in good standing
  • Must have a daily priority and practice of prayer and time in God’s word
  • Must be coachable, moldable, humble, forgiving and inviting of others to hold oneself accountable
  • Must demonstrate loving servant leadership in personal and home life
  • Must show evidence of healthy stewardship of time, talent, money and other resources
