Traditional Worship Venue

Our Traditional Worship Venue features a choir and orchestra for people in our community who prefer a more traditional style. This venue includes a video of the weekend message.   In all the ministries of Calvary Church the mission and values of ordinary people learning to walk like Jesus walks by loving God, loving others, and serving His world drives what we do.  In particular our Worship services and venues seek to give opportunity for our church family to love God.

  • Must be proficient in leading both choir and orchestra
  • Must be able to work with Calvary Staff and volunteers
  • Must understand Calvary’s vision for the role that music plays in the life of the church
  • Must be at ease working with a range of ages and musical styles
  • Must be able to recruit, train and give opportunity for volunteers within worship ministry


Traditional Worship Responsibilities

  • Communicates all plans pertaining to orchestra and choir (including vocals)
  • Plan and Execute a traditional service including mid-week rehearsal and Sunday morning service
  • Select, rehearse, and conduct music to be performed by choir and orchestra
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Alongside Pastor of Worship Arts, foster a community of prayer, devotion and personal worship in the choir and orchestra
  • Participate in quarterly Calvary Contemporary Worship Community gatherings. 
  • Meet bi monthly with Pastor of Worship Arts and Ministry Leadership
  • Develop and implement quarterly gatherings for the Traditional Worship team for purposes of vision and training.
  • Develop a leadership team within the Traditional Venue to help plan and develop the service
  • Develop and maintain a sense of unity with Calvary mission and ministries as a whole
  • Recruit and develop new members of the choir and orchestra



Meetings and Rehearsals

  • Attend weekly Tuesday Staff meetings at 10am
  • Attend weekly program team meetings (debrief, planning and coordination meeting) Tuesday at 11:45 am
  • Mid Week Evening Rehearsal
  • Sunday Rehearsal
  • Sunday Services
  • Additional times based on special programs
