Job Description:

Snyder 1st United Methodist is searching for a person to undertake the challenge of leading our student ministry which focuses on grades 7 – 12.   The primary mission is to facilitate making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.


Our ideal candidate will have a vibrant relationship with God in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.  Their life will evidence passion for Christ, godly character, spiritual leadership, competency and capacity for establishing and maintaining healthy relationships.


Responsibilities in this role include oversight of volunteers, equipping leaders to support ministry activities, develop plans and budgets, and collaborate with Ministry and Leadership Team members.  Direct report will be to the Senior Pastor.


Our congregation has invested in remodeling space for the Reveal Youth Ministry.  Currently there are over 60 students associated with the ministry with an average near 40.


Snyder, Texas is located in the western rolling plains about halfway between Lubbock and Abilene on U.S. 84.  The area is beginning to experience growth due to a boom in oil and wind energy.  Projections call for at least a doubling of the area’s 18,000+ population.

Snyder First United Methodist Church

Snyder First United Methodist is a mostly older congregation with a younger core of leadership. Our average attendance is 109. Recently new pastoral leadership has led the congregation to begin developing a mission-mindset. We have opened a Christian day care and a K - 6th elementary school.
