Job Requirements/Responsibilities/Expectation


The position of Children’s and Student Ministries Pastor for newhope Church’s Sanford Campus is responsible for providing spiritual, visionary, team-based, value-driven leadership for children birth-5th grade as well as Middle School students, High School students, and servant leaders at newhope’s Sanford campus. This is accomplished in a manner consistent with the purpose, vision, and core values of newhope church.


God’s candidate for this role will be an integral member of newhope’s Sanford Campus Team with the specific responsibilities of planning, developing, overseeing, and evaluating all components of the Children’s Ministry birth-5th grade and Student Ministries for 6th-12th grade; serving as the primary communicator for Student Ministries grades 6th-12th; establishing goals and objectives (in conjunction with the Campus Pastor) for Children’s and Student Ministries and initiating strategies to fulfill them; leading students to value active participation in the ministries of newhope church; developing and implementing effective processes to assimilate children and students into small groups; and supervising the enlistment, training, and evaluation of all volunteer workers in Children’s and Student Ministries. This pastor will work alongside the children's and student ministries team of newhope church to provide excellent care and quality Christian environments for children birth - 5th grade and students 6th-12th grade to experience God at newhope church, Sanford.


The general expectations of a newhope staff member are defined within the staff handbook and staff covenant. The campus Children’s and Student ministries pastor will first and foremost be a spiritual leader above reproach (1 Timothy 3) and embody godliness, humility, and integrity. Nothing gets in the way of spiritual leadership than a leader compromising any of these responsibilities. As a result, a major part of the expectations is to model the highest level of godliness through spiritual disciplines of prayer, Scripture reading, devotional reading, journaling, and/or fasting.


This is a full-time position, and compensation will be based upon experience and qualifications of the staff person and guided by the staffing matrix.
