Job Description:

We are a non-denominational contemporary church that desires to reach our community with a fresh and relevant message.  Our greatest desire is to see lives restored by the awesome power of God.

The primary responsibility of the Lead Pastor will be teaching God’s word, developing and articulating vision, and working with the staff in ministry execution. In addition, he will work to create a place of unity and ministry to the entire family.

Responsibilities:

• The Lead Pastor is responsible for overseeing the teaching and preaching in the church. He sets new series and decides what kind of exposition of scripture is most beneficial for the health of the body. He does the bulk of the preaching and is responsible for arranging other speakers as needed.

• The Lead Pastor gives day-by-day oversight to the staff and overall ministry execution of the church. He needs to be able to equip and encourage the staff in fulfilling their ministry roles.

• The Lead Pastor will be responsible to ensure good communication about the various ministries in the church.

The Lead Pastor will meet regularly with the staff and administrative council for vision input, prayer, and direction concerning the spiritual oversight of the congregation.

• The Lead Pastor gives broad oversight to the outward mission of the church. This involves having a heart for those who don’t know the Lord and helping lead the church in reaching out to the surrounding community.

• The Lead Pastor spends time with church members, strengthening the believers in the church, welcoming newcomers, and being available to meet with members who need pastoral guidance.

• The Lead Pastor does not let ministry crowd out his personal walk and renewal before God. He is a man of prayer and has moments of personal retreat, solitude and meditation on God’s word.

Qualifications:

• A mature, growing believer with a strong understanding of the gospel and its implications for all of life. The pastor should be a man “full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom” who has a life that affirms the qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

• A gifted student and communicator of the Bible, able to maintain a regular preaching load.

• Someone who prioritizes prayer as a fundamental part of ministry.

• An able leader who can graciously and professionally manage staff roles, delegate responsibilities wisely, address conflicts, and communicate vision and direction.

• A 4 year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

At least 3 years of pastoral experience is required.

• In agreement with church’s doctrine, mission and values, which will be forwarded to you if interested in position.

Several Doctrinal Distinctive Important for Leadership:

We realize these are not all of “first order” importance. But to be a good fit, we believe that holding these values will be important for healthy alignment and fruitfulness.

• We are open to all the gifts of the Spirit. We believe the gifts of the Spirit have not categorically “ceased” from operation in the first century. While there have been abuses and misuses of the spiritual gifts, we desire to be eager for the Lord to manifest himself through his gifts in a way that honors Christ and is done in a spirit of humility and good order.

• We are led by a team of elders known as the Administrative Council. We believe the New Testament teaches that under the lordship of Christ, the primary leadership of the local church is a plurality of council.  The Lead Pastor would serve on the council team, and have a greater investment to give to leadership, vision and teaching. But he would carry the same “vote” as any other council member.

A glance at our church:

We are a body that started 4 years ago as a church plant with 15 people.  Today, approximately 300 people worship with us weekly.  Our desire is to provide a quality atmosphere where the entire family can connect with Christ.
