Midtown Campus Pastor Job Description


The Campus Pastor is responsible for the leadership of Hope Church’s Midtown location. Primary areas of responsibility include:

  • Cultivating a Hope Midtown community that reflects the Mission, Vision and Values of Hope Church

  • Offering transformational worship experiences at Hope Midtown that are oriented toward seekers

  • Coordinating with Hope staff and volunteers to offer engaging spiritual formation opportunities for adults, children and students that match the DNA of Hope

  • Overseeing the administration of the finances and operations of Hope Midtown

  • Mobilizing volunteers toward outreach and service in line with the vision of Hope World Impact

  • Championing the “one church – many locations” model at all times

  • Managing the Midtown campus staff for maximum effectiveness and devopment


    Personal Qualifications

  • A growing personal relationship with Christ evidenced by spiritual maturity and depth

  • An engaging presence and desire to connect relationally with people who don’t know Christ

  • Evidence of a humble and teachable spirit

  • Catalytic leader: a high-capacity, high-energy, self-starter who is known for turning ideas into


  • Team player: exhibits both the ability to lead and to be led; more interested in pursuing the mission of the church as a team than in personal glory

  • Mobilizer: not only attracts followers but can transform relationships into teams of volunteers

  • Multi-tasker: shows high capacity to juggle a lot of balls simultaneously and loves the juggling act

  • Communicator: is capable and articulate speaking to a room full of people, but doesn’t need teaching/preaching to be their primary role

  • DNA carrier: defaults to the mission, vision, values, and senior leadership of the church 


    Education and Experience

  • Minimum undergraduate Bachelor’s degree -- seminary degree preferred

  • Willingness to pursue and fulfill requirements for ordination in the EPC

  • Growing understanding of the Bible and practical theology

  • Leadership experience, either in volunteer or paid roles in ministry

  • Experience managing personnel so that they thrive, grow and do great work
