The Youth Minister is responsible for developing, coordinating and supervising a comprehensive, educational and spiritual growth program for the youth of the First United Methodist Church of Wetumpka. This also includes encouraging a commitment to Christ
and the Church and for helping youth develop skills which will enable them to become involved in the ministry of God's people. Youth Minister will be responsible for organizing and coordinating all youth's activities for grades 7th - 12th, and for securing
and training volunteers to assit in the ministry.
The Youth Minister is expected to have prior experience working with youth, enjoy spending time with them, have a strong leadership capability and the ability to command respect from a group. Must possess strong skills in the areas of organization, administrative
planning, communication, not only with the youth, but with the parents and congregation as well. Must also have an acceptable knowledge of the curriculum being used and teach biblically-based lessons.
