Assisted by Faith Evangelical Free Church in Austin, MN, Crossroads Church was planted in 1995 by a group of 50 people who desired to start a church in Albert Lea. In 2011, James Petersen accepted the call to be the Senior Pastor, and the original values of reaching the lost through a contemporary approach to worship and making disciples continue to remain strong as the church moves ahead in its next season. Crossroads Church is known in the region for its dynamic worship, relevant preaching, young families, community leadership, and welcoming nature to all people, and they are preparing to birth a new church on the south side of town in September of 2014. The worship experience at Crossroads Church desires to be culturally relevant and consists of contemporary worship that is multi-sensory, physically engaging, and spiritually impacting. 


Crossroads Church is seeking an Associate Pastor of Worship who will be committed to the vision of Crosssroads of regional impact for Jesus Christ through the making of disciples who worship, grow, serve, and reach. The Associate Pastor of Worship will be a proven leader who develops, inspires, motivates, and releases people to serve in a context of “current-contemporary” worship. They will lead their teams and the congregation with a relational heart, strong people skills, and musical competency. The successful candiate will be responsible for all aspects of worship, including order of service, rehearsals, lighting, sound, video, and creative arts. This position also carries the responsibility of an additional ministry role, to be determined based on the candidate’s strengths, passion, and experience.


The ideal candidate will posess a bachelor's degree in a related field. Versatile and excellent musicianship, both vocally and instrumentally is required, as well as proven ability developing leaders and volunteers (both technically and spiritually) within a worship arts ministry. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading worship, preferably in a large church setting.
