Role: This person will provide energy, leadership, and direction to the Children’s

Ministry of the East Campus of Richwoods Christian Church with the goal of helping

children find and follow Christ.

 

Job Description: The Director of Children’s Ministry - East Campus has overall

responsibility for the Children’s Ministry (Infant-5th grade) at the East Campus including

the areas of DNA, Environment, Programming, Volunteer Development, and Ministry

Growth. This position also serves as an East Campus Staff member.

 

DNA Champion – The Children’s Director is the primary influence on behalf of

the mission, vision, and values of Richwoods within the Children’s Ministry arena,

ensuring these threads are being communicated and implemented well. They are

responsible for representing and upholding both Campus and Ministry

Constants.

 

Environment – The Director ensures that there is a vibrant, joyful, safe, and “kidfriendly”

environment in Children’s Ministry where children are encouraged to

experience the wonder of God.

 

Programming – The Director is responsible (with input from volunteers) to

select and implement curriculum, to make sure that all activities (weekend

services, child care ministry, etc.) are staffed, and that all programming fulfills the

mission, vision, and values of Richwoods and complies with established

Constants.

 

Volunteer Development – The Director is the “chief recruiter” for the Children’s

Ministry and is responsible to care for and develop leaders and volunteers as they

work to ensure the ministry has adequate staffing for the necessary number of

classes and children.

 

Ministry Health – The Director provides ongoing assessment of the health of

the Children’s Ministry including growth, dashboards, volunteer to children

ratios, and seasonal/annual goals.

 

Staff Member – In serving as a staff member of both the East Campus and of the

larger Richwoods staff team, the Director will be expected to participate in staff

events and meetings with a positive spirit and a “big picture” view.
