Job Description:

This opening is for Richwoods newest campus aquirred through a merger with Parkway Christian Church in Pekin, IL.  Richwoods will be relaunching the campus officially in January of 2015, however services are ongoing under the leadership of Richwoods staff and volunteers.


Applicants should have experience building and growing a ministry, either a small church or a youth ministry.  Leading and developing volunteer leaders is a critical skill set, experience in this area will need to be explained.


Job Description: The campus pastor executes the mission and vision of Richwoods at the “local” campus level appropriate to the size and scale of the campus and is accountable to the executive pastor.  The campus pastor is the primary pastoral connection and leader of the campus.


DNA Champion: The campus pastor is the leading proponent and promoter of the mission, vision, and values of Richwoods at the campus level and is responsible to effectively establish and execute the mission, vision, and values of Richwoods at the campus.


Shepherd: The campus pastor is the primary shepherd of the people at the campus and is responsible for relationally connecting with them.  The campus pastor will implement and ensure pastoral care, including, but not limited to, weddings, funerals, hospital visitations, counseling, and the implementation of Richwoods’ missional strategy and its measurements.


Development: The campus pastor will locally implement Richwoods’ staff and volunteer development strategy and oversee the execution of Richwoods’ spiritual formation process at the campus ministry level.


Campus Evaluation: The campus pastor will provide ongoing assessment of campus health indicators (budgets, staff ratios, dashboards, missional strategy, etc.) to the executive pastor. The campus pastor will also lead the campus to realize its potential within the multi-site structure so that the campus becomes a healthy contributor of both financial and volunteer resources within a predetermined and reasonable time frame.


Leadership Expectations: Relying on other campuses, key volunteers, and Central Services for support, the campus pastor is very present and hands on in the ongoing ministry of the campus, leading with skills much like those of a shepherd who feeds, nurtures, and walks with the flock. The campus pastor is very dependent on key volunteers and works through them with an understanding of the ministry program quality required to meet the expectations of Richwoods. The campus pastor should be skilled at connecting individuals to the larger mission of the campus and should be highly visible with key volunteers in campus-specific community outreach.
