Job Description:

Vertical Church exists to lead this generation to know, love, and follow Jesus; especially the children in our community. We are a new non-denominational church in the Kansas City area who will begin worship experiences this Fall, with weekly services starting in early 2015.  As it relates to children, we see 3 key responsibilities that we have to our community.

1.  Create the best environments possible for children of all ages to know Jesus

so they can learn to love and follow Him.

2.  Empower parents to be the main disciplers of their children.

3.  Serve underprivileged children and families in our community.

With this in mind, we are looking for someone who is passionate about these 3 areas to champion our effort to disciple kids, empower parents, and serve the community.  We are not looking for someone we can “hand this off to” but someone who will be an advocate for children as we work together as a team to accomplish our mission.

Our criteria for this position are based off of the 4 C’s of choosing a team: Character, Chemistry, Calling, and Competency.  The first 3 are the most important to us, because the latter can be taught and developed over time.  With that in mind, below are the responsibilities, commitment, and compensation for this position.

*Meet with key leaders for the purpose of discipleship

*Champion Sunday morning experience for preschool/children’s area (with the

 support of the lead team)

*Assist lead team with empowering parents to disciple their children

*Coordinate usage of “Orange Curriculum” on Sunday mornings

*Assist lead team with strategizing how to better serve children in need in the

*Navigate all of this in a portable environment

Commitment: 20 hours a week

Hours can be flexible other then 5 hours on Sunday mornings (7:30 am -12:30 pm).

As our staff members lead out in a culture of discipleship, every staff member and their family (if applicable) is also expected to be a part of our small group environments.  Hours spent in these environments (about 2 a week) do not count towards the 20 hours.
