The primary purpose of the Youth Pastor is to introduce young people to Christ and to disciple those who know Christ into strong believers with a solid Biblical knowledge base. The Youth Pastor also assists parents in raising their teenagers to be spiritually
prepared for adulthood so they will have the spiritual formation needed to be able to live “all of life for Christ” in today’s culture.
The right Youth Pastor candidate for CEFC will have the spiritual gifts of leadership and teaching, with a proven track record of success in leading other leaders. The candidate should be proactive and a self-starter, be able to multi-task, be teachable

He will be able to recruit, train and lead a youth ministry leadership team made up of students, parents and other volunteers to develop and accomplish the goals of the ministry. He will possess excellent personal character consistent with the Biblical requirements
for church leaders set forth in 1 Timothy 3 and 2 Timothy 2.
He will be able to teach God’s word in compelling Bible based and Christ centered ways to teens and will be able to design and implement impactful offsite events, such as retreats, in addition to overseeing our Sunday and Wednesday evening Youth programs.
The Youth Pastor will have strong interpersonal skills, and a healthy sense of humor. He must be passionate about Christ and his people, and have a strong desire to see the unchurched find and develop a personal relationship with Jesus and be able to relate
to today’s young people.
The ideal candidate will have formal Bible and ministry training from an accredited seminary or Bible college with a degree in Theology, Christian Education or Youth Ministry.
The responsibility breakout for this position is as follows:
- Leadership Development – 40%
- Program Development and Oversight – 40%
- Administration – 20%
