McDowell Mountain Community Church is a non-denominational, inter-generational community of people who are on a journey of faith together. They are an imperfect people who are striving to join with God on His mission of love in the world today. They know Jesus wasn’t thinking of a building or religious institution when He first launched the church a couple thousand years ago. McDowell Mountain Community Church believes Jesus was thinking of a movement, a community of people bringing hope and peace and grace and love to a world in need of hope and peace and grace and love. That’s what they’re striving to become. And they believe everyone is invited into this community.

 

McDowell Mountain Community Church is hiring a Director of Children’s Ministry who will oversee all aspects of ministry to children and their families, which includes children birth through 5th grade.  This person will plan and execute the programming of the Children’s Ministry in a way that is consistent with the overall vision of MMCC.  They will be responsible for planning and executing the Sunday experiences for children, providing leadership for children, families, volunteers, and children’s ministry staff. 

 

The successful candidate will have experience in children’s ministry in a growth setting. The ability to recruit, train, and empower volunteers is crucial. A candidate who is both highly relational, yet possesses administrative and organizational skills, would be ideal. This person will have high energy, possess good communication skills, and be someone who sees the big picture vision of McDowell Mountain Community Church. A college degree in a related field is desired but is not mandatory. 

 

Scottsdale, Arizona, an affluent city of 226,000 people on the eastern side of Phoenix, is commonly known for its high quality of life. It was named the “Most Livable City” in the U.S. by the U.S. Conference of Mayors in 1993.  It ranks as the 95th largest city in the United States, and its slogan is, “The West’s Most Western Town.”  It is a very friendly and outdoor place, with sunshine over 300 days a year. Residents say that Scottsdale feels like a small, big city, and it is very easy to get around.  It is a forward thinking community with many entrepreneurs and professionals making the city their base of operation. The greater Phoenix metro area is home to more than four million residents, making it the 14th largest area in the United States.
