Job Description:

The Communications Director serves the Lord and FFC by developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy for First Family Church.

Principal Duties:

  1. Develop a comprehensive communications strategy for FFC to communicate the message of the church both internally and externally using current media.

  2. To produce or oversee the production of the worship folder, main website, social media, e-newsletter, brochures, flyers, posters, and signs to maintain a coordinated theme and message.

  3. Standardize communications design and style guidelines to ensure that the FFC “brand” and message is in sync and unified.

  4. Coordinate the master communications calendar for all churchwide events and activities planned for the purpose of promotion and advertising.

  5. To serve as, or appoint when necessary, the church's public information officer to the media, providing press releases and statements to the media as needed.

  6. To assist the other staff in assessing and filtering their promotional materials for specific, non-churchwide events or programs to ensure continuity of brand and message.

  7. To coordinate the use of outside media for the purpose of advertising the church's ministries and events.

  8. Work along side the teaching team to develop and execute effective visual support for sermon series’ and campaigns (stage design, campus-wide visuals, ect.).

  9. Format archived sermons and media for easy access and distribution.

  10. Work along side the Pastoral staff and Elders to create short format audio/visual media for the purpose of additional teaching and addressing of pertinent cultural subject matter.

  11. Assist Pastoral staff in developing multimedia resources specific to their particular ministry needs (weekly, or event based).

Reports to: Pastor of Small Groups & Administration



  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, electronic media, journalism, or relevant field of study.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong administrative skills and demonstratable ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience or proven ability to learn web development, social media strategy, video production, audio production, and graphic design.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Mac OS, Google Apps, WordPress, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with and sometimes lead a collaborative team committed to boldly proclaiming God's Word and making disciples.
