Oak Ridge Baptist Church is a growing and thriving congregation located on the Maryland peninsula in Salisbury. In the last ten years, dynamic pastor Brian Moss has led a transformation of Oak Ridge, and they are currently in an exciting season of growth marked by the launch of their second campus in Delaware, with many more on the horizon. Oak Ridge has become well-known in the community for being very strategic in their ability to reach families and individuals in the area and equip them with a Biblical understanding and worldview, as well as being a place of relevant worship. Many of the strategies and programs of Oak Ridge are a result of their relationship with Saddleback Church in California.

Oak Ridge, made up of all generations and ethnicities, is a church that values relationships, and one of the primary ways this is displayed is through their Small Groups. Small Groups are the “lifeblood” of the church family, and they use groups as the “first-line of defense” for all pastoral care situations. The Small Groups Pastor will develop, equip, and manage Oak Ridge's Small Groups Ministry, leading, coordinating, and ministering to the Small Group leadership team. They will oversee the tracking of the group connection process and ensure no one falls through the cracks within the church family, making sure every person has a place they belong. This individual must be more of a developer of leaders (equipper) than a manager of groups (shepherd). They will oversee the Small Groups' curriculum selection and distribution, including creation of custom curriculum. They will develop systems that are visible, accessible, and efficient in getting new members or groups started throughout the year, and will launch new groups that exceed or match the growth trends of Oak Ridge.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent ministry experience, and will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unchurched with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new members. They will have at least three years of experience working in a local church as well as the potential to thrive in a setting much larger than the current size of Oak Ridge. The ideal candidate will also have a proven track record of growth within their Small Groups ministry.

Salisbury, Maryland is only a short drive from several major metro areas, including Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Norfolk, and Annapolis. Salisbury is situated in the central part of the Maryland peninsula, and although it is near the East Coast, it very much reflects the warm culture often found in the southern United States. Salisbury is the largest city on the Maryland peninsula, and the area is strategically placed in terms of future growth for multi-site campuses up and down the East Coast. Ocean City, MD, one of the top tourist destinations on the eastern seaboard is only a short drive away. The beach is a regular part of life for residents of Salisbury, and the charm and culture of the Chesapeake Bay colors all activities and cultural opportunities.
