About Mt. Gilead Church:

Mt. Gilead was founded in 1851 with a mission to “Reach, Teach, and Serve in the name of Jesus Christ”. We have long since been known as the iconic country church and are proud of our growing congregation of approximately 200 made up of all generations with a multitude of young families and children, poised for a healthy future. We appreciate a blended worship service with a cross between traditional and contemporary. Our Mt. Gilead family erected a new sanctuary in 2007 and through prayerful giving maintains a debt-free budget. The current pastor is transitioning to the mission field with the full support of our church. We consider this as an opportunity for our church to continue spiritual growth.

Ministry Description:

The Lead Pastor will thrive in a multi-faceted environment being the primary preacher of God’s Word, pastoral care for the church body, and the application of Biblical principles to Christian living and service. In addition, the Lead Pastor will design and teach Bible classes as needed or appropriate outside of the Sunday morning worship service.  Additional main functions of the Lead Pastor will be to oversee the day-to-day ministerial functions of the church and supervise the church ministry staff which currently consists of a secretary. This individual will be supervised by the official board and will also partner with church leadership, more specifically, our current youth minister, trustees, and deacon board, creating and carrying out their unified visions.

He will have significant leadership experience with a history of productive ministry in leadership development in both small groups and ministry teams. He will be a capable teacher of the Word with clear communication skills and with effective administrative abilities; one who thrives on providing the necessary support for others to succeed and handles conflict effectively with truth and grace. They will have proven skills that foster trust, fairness, and teamwork among staff, members, and volunteers, and a common focus on excellence in all areas.  We prefer, but do not require, someone with a degree in a ministry-related field. This person will be committed to pursue and abide by the character qualification of 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
