This position will be a full-time and salaried. Candidates will be assessed according to their godly character and spiritual maturity as outlined in biblical passages on Elders (e.g. 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, etc.). Candidates will also be evaluated according
to their spirituals gifts and their agreement and fit with the doctrine, mission, leadership, and core values of WEFC.
When hired, the staff member will report directly to the Senior Pastor and will be held accountable by the Senior Pastor and the Elder Board. The Senior Pastor will have primary responsibility for coaching, mentoring, and training of the staff member.
The Associate Pastor will have several areas of responsibility including: youth ministry, children’s ministry, and general pastoral ministry (e.g. preaching, visitation, funerals, weddings, communion, baptism, etc.) dependent on the needs of the church and
the gifting and calling of the Associate Pastor. This will be done to bless WEFC and future churches where the staff member may minister. This will be determined by the Elder Board as necessary.
As the Lord wills, there may be future opportunity for WEFC to send the staff member to do church planting or church revitalization as the staff member gains experience and skill.
