We are thrilled and honored that Calvary Baptist Church has retained Vanderbloemen for another search for a key staff position.

Calvary is a thriving multisite church of over 3,300 weekly attenders with three locations in and around the Winston-Salem, NC area. The attendees of Calvary come from a variety of cultural, social, and even religious backgrounds.  Even though they are different in many ways, there is one thing that unites them – the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dr. Rob Peters became the Senior Pastor of Calvary in June 2013 and is bringing fresh energy and vision to the church.  His overall goal is to help people know and follow Jesus Christ so that they can experience the transformation that only Jesus Christ can make. Three key values are at the center of all that happens at Calvary: make disciples, mature disciples, and multiply disciples.

The Executive Pastor will work under the direction of the Senior Pastor, providing day-to-day administrative oversight and leadership of all church ministries, personnel, systems and operations to facilitate implementation of the vision, mission, purposes and core values of the church. They will oversee, manage, and coordinate all ministries and programs of the church for effectiveness and consistency. The Executive Pastor must be able to handle the administration of 3 large facilities, mentor a staff of 250+, and do it with grace and wisdom. They will develop and administer a comprehensive bottom-up communication plan to assure that employee input is both valued and heard. They will act as the liaison for the Senior Pastor with church staff, committees, and membership.

The preferred candidate will possess degrees in ministry, and business or process management. The ideal candidate will have ten years of management experience in secular work and five years of experience in ministry. They will be able to personally develop past the 5,000 barrier in Sunday morning attendance and envision multi-campus ministry as a part of the long-term strategy for Calvary. They will be an effective communicator who clearly defines and conveys expectations.

Winston-Salem is the fifth largest city in North Carolina. It is home to six colleges and universities including Salem College, the longest, continuously running women's college in the U.S., as well as the prestigious Wake Forest University and Winston-Salem State University. Winston-Salem continues to build a diverse business base, including leading in nanotechnology research, finance, and manufacturing. In addition, Winston-Salem is a beautiful area of the country where you can fully enjoy the four seasons while still experiencing moderate temperatures throughout the winter season. It is known as the “City of the Arts” because of its roots as the creator of the first arts council in the United States, and it maintains that title because of the variety of theaters and galleries in the area.
