Position:  Director of Worship

Reports to:  Pastor of Student Ministries

Full Time:  40 hours/week

The candidate must maintain a personal and ongoing walk with God through the power of the Holy Spirit.  He/she must strive to submit daily to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Summary of Position:

Grace Community Church exists as a mosaic striving to live like Jesus.  The person in this position is responsible to help lead our students in ways for them to develop their own faith and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  


We are committed to creating environments for our students that allow them to follow Christ in a safe manner, introduce their friends to Christ and build a foundation for their life that is based on Christ. 

This position will be responsible for worship and technical teams for 45 degrees (grade 4 & 5); STORM (grades 6, 7, & 8) and worship, tech teams curriculum, communications, small groups and activities for Revolution (grade 9 – 12).


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


? Select music for all age groups 

? Build worship teams for each environment

? Regularly lead worship in STORM and Revolution, and on occasion in 45 Degrees

? Build tech teams for STORM and Revolution

? Handle worship arts for all retreats and events for student ministries

? Occasionally teach at STORM, Revolution and/or 45 Degrees

? Work with Director of Worship Arts to develop synergy between student worship teams and adult  worship teams, determining how to eliminate ministry silos and leverage all those who love to  teach our body to worship.

 ? Provide discipleship to students through shepherding, as a pastor within the ministry and  especially to the tech and worship teams.

? Other ministry responsibilities as assigned.  


Required Skills/Abilities:


• 3-4 years’ experience in leading contemporary student worship

• Proven leadership

• Excellent communication skills, written & verbal

• Effective team-building and teaching skills

• Exceptional team player with the ability to lead and follow through

• Abilities in conveying warmth, care and community 

• Ability to be tenacious in follow-through

• Computer literate – Microsoft Office Suite

• Creative
