Graceland Baptist Church (Graceland) is a dynamic, externally-focused, community church (with current loose ties to the Southern Baptist Convention) located in a growth area across the Ohio River near Louisville, KY.  Graceland has a strong vision and track record for reaching both the unchurched and the dechurched, building up believers, and impacting the world for Christ.

The church's track record speaks for itself. Founded in 1950 with a vision to reach people in the New Albany area for Christ, the ministry has continued to grow and impact its community.  In the 1980’s, the church experienced a Holy Spirit inspired revival that continues to influence and drive ministry today. The church now has an average attendance that exceeds 1200 each weekend, made up of all generations and a multitude of families. The church has posted an annual positive growth rate the majority of its years, and Graceland is well positioned for continued growth in the coming years.

The Senior Pastor will serve as the chief communicator, primary Biblical teacher, and visionary leader for Graceland. The successful candidate will be responsible to teach culturally relevant, Biblically accurate messages during weekend services. The Senior Pastor will be responsible for effectively sharing the gospel and communicating the vision of the church, as well as leading and developing the staff and lay leadership of the church. He will also be part of the Board of Elders.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new believers. The candidate will have had experience working as an effective leader of a large ministry team, instilling vision, and mobilizing leaders in a church of 750 attendees or greater. The successful Senior Pastor will have a proven record of being a gifted teacher, leader, and communicator as a Senior Pastor or similar capacity. In addition, the individual should show outstanding interpersonal skills, authenticity, and an ability to connect well with people from all backgrounds and life stages.

While education is not the primary consideration in the selection of a new Senior Pastor, it is likely that the Senior Pastor will have earned, at minimum, a master's degree from an accredited Bible college or seminary. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a passion for lifelong learning along with personal and professional development.
