Crossroads Fellowship is a non-denominational Christian church with two campus locations in the Triangle area of North Carolina. We are a large, diverse and active church of approximately 4500 in attendance each week, and 700 in the Children’s Ministry (Birth-4th Grade), committed to reaching the community with the love of Christ while leading believers to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We are currently seeking an individual to fill the Children’s Minister/Pastor role. The Children’s Pastor is responsible for implementing and managing the Children’s Ministry vision and programming, under the guidance of the Next Gen. Pastor. The Children’s Ministry team strives to equip parents and children with the tools they need to grow in their faith and develop strong, God-honoring families.


The Children’s Minister/Pastor is part of the senior leadership team. They will have a steadfast call to lead in Children’s Ministry, with demonstrated experience. The Children’s Minister/Pastor will have a supervisory role over the coordinators, who carry out the day-to-day functions for ministry to infants, preschoolers, and elementary aged children, as well as paid childcare staff. This position will include significant focus on recruiting, training and shepherding leaders.


This minister/pastor should be passionate in focusing on the following areas emphasized below:


Pastoral Leadership

  • General care duties & good pastoral rapport with children and families (e.g. biblical advice/counsel, hospital visitation, prayer, general shepherding and care)
  • Clear evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ and sincere, consistent effort to live the lifestyle of a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ
  • Maintain a visibility at Children’s Ministry events/activities (i.e. not necessarily coordinating the logistics of events)
  • Act as an example to staff, volunteers and families with church attendance, integrity and humility, able to acknowledge shortcomings, failures and struggles
  • Regular and predictable attendance as a member of Crossroads Fellowship
  • Can humbly acknowledge their own shortcomings, failures and struggles
  • Desire to transform real kids into real followers of Jesus Christ.
  • Personally maintain general knowledge of the flock in his/her care
  • Appropriate confidence and enthusiasm
  • Ability to inspire people to follow
  • Strong communication skills
  • Communicate vision and goals
  • Prayerful with a discerning spirit
  • Patient with kids


Ministry Team Management

  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Decisive & resourceful approach
  • Ability to resolve conflict in a biblical way
  • Cooperate with other kids staff in decision making
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and direction
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple ministries
  • Oversee and direct Children’s Ministry team in carrying out tasks
  • Sense of strong ownership and follow through on job assignments
  • Support Coordinators in the design and development of their ministry venues
  • The ability to manage a team and ministry with more than one campus
  • Lead team meetings and training of paid and volunteer staff members as necessary
  • Assist ministry Coordinators in creating a plan for on-going leadership development of leaders and volunteers, including recruit, train and manage volunteers for assigned area of ministry



  • Create a leadership development plan for entire volunteer support system and lead training opportunities for volunteers as required by the development plan
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement programming for ministries such as Sunday School, AWANA, VBS, camps, special vision, etc…
  • Ability to use standard office equipment & office systems


The follow requirements are mandatory for all applications:

  • Pastor/Minister title
  • Church Staff experience
  • Large church experience
  • Called to Children’s Ministry
  • Experience in Children’s Ministry
  • Multi-campus experience a plus, but not required
