  • Strong leadership skills; creative approach to ministry, ability to set/implement vision and direction, and develop others as leaders
  • Strong gifts administration skills; strategic thinker, action-oriented, team-oriented, self starter, and organized
  • Excellent communications skills; verbal, written, and technologically
  • Identify, equip, and mobilize high capacity lay leaders and teams
  • Experience leading paid and volunteer staff
  • History of effectively serving in a high level leadership role at a growing church or company
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; leadership, business, or education
  • Minimum of 7 years experience; leadership, management, education, and/or ministry



  • Lead, train and develop Children’s Ministry staff by providing coaching and  outside resources and opportunities
  • Lead the Children’s Ministry coordinators as they set the course and direction for Discovery Town
  • Support Children’s staff with problem solving, organizational help, job evaluations, critiques and prioritizing. Staff will receive quality leadership and coaching from Children’s Ministry Team Leader.
  • Participate as a member of the CLC Leadership Team and Church Ministry Executive Team
  • Provide support to Sites Children’s Ministry Coordinator
  • Provide support to Elementary Coordinator in building and maintaining connections between children’s and youth ministry staff
  • Provide leadership to AWANA Commander and oversee all AWANA and Midweek activities
  • Responsible for leading, developing, and equipping Children’s Ministry Staff for Little York as well as Sites, to ensure consistency in the implementation of the God-Sized Vision from birth-5th grade 
  • Provide Relational Connecting Events for volunteers
  • Implement Family Events
  • Develop Children’s Ministry activities for All Church Events 
  • Create an annual Strategic Ministry Priorities (SMP), set goals, continually evaluate ongoing performance against the goals and provide a status report on a quarterly basis.
  • Integrate and advocate for Children’s Ministry with other CLC Ministries and senior leadership
  • Lead regularly scheduled meetings for Children’s Ministry staff and Advisory Team
  • Write and oversee Children’s Ministry budget
  • Coordinate training and ensure screening of Children’s Ministry volunteers
  • Develop policies and procedures for Children’s Ministry
  • Work with Discipleship Team to coordinate and identify teachers for classes relevant to families and parents
  • Work with security teams to ensure the safety and security of our children
  • Plan mission fundraisers and outreach opportunities for kids and volunteers
