Job Description:


The Director of Ministries (DOM) reports to the Senior pastor of Calvary Bible Church. The role of the DOM is threefold: serve Jesus, serve the church, and serve the senior pastor. The DOM will develop environments for spiritual growth and will manage the day-to-day operations of the church. The DOM serves in such a way that increases Calvary’s capacity for ministry. The DOM is a servant leader who values leading from behind the scenes. This plays out in a number of ways. The DOM organizes the church’s greatest resource for mission: people. The DOM will focus on the entire flock, aligning people with priorities for the purpose of spiritual growth and leadership development. The DOM will oversee operations by developing and implementing processes and procedures that build a healthy infrastructure. The DOM directs the use and care of the church’s facilities so that people are loved and Jesus is worshiped. They also must be a strategic thinker and a problem-solver who brings solutions to the other leaders from a biblical perspective.



  • Fulfill the requirements of Calvary Bible Church members as outlined in the membership covenant.

  • Fulfill the character qualifications of a servant leader as taught in the Scriptures (See 1 Timothy 3)

  • Bachelor’s degree required, M.Div preferred.

  • Humility, desire to continually improve, and passion to build a world-class church and ministry operations.

  • Commitment to serving Calvary Bible Church in this role long term to ensure a solid foundation and consistency.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills and gifts, builder of strategies and systems, focused on details.



    • Oversight and development of the visitor and new member assimilation process.

    • Recruitment, oversight and development of church volunteer teams (greeters, parking lot attendants,

      outreach team, prayer counselors, benevolence team, etc.).

    • Oversight of the Sunday morning worship experience.

    • Oversight and development of the Small Groups Ministry (Includes but is not limited to creating dynamic environments for spiritual growth, recruiting and developing leaders, researching curriculum and systems, evaluating the effectiveness and health of the groups).

    • Preaching/Teaching as needed.

    • Oversees communication and follow-up through CRM (church database).
