Job Description:

Director of Student Ministry (30 hours)/Contemporary Worship Leader (10 hours).  

High-energy, relational, well-organized and spiritually mature leader sought to continue vision and direction of student ministries (middle school, high school and college-age).  Missional focus and proven relational skills a must!  In addition, understanding and teaching United Methodist theology is encouraged.  The candidate will have experience working with teams of youth and adult volunteers to plan and implement comprehensive student discipleship programs.  Experience and track record of growing a student ministry strongly preferred.  Lead a worship team and the support personnel involved in producing quality, engaging worship experiences in the Sunday contemporary worship service.  This person will be the primary worship leader, leading and shepherding the worship team and the congregation.  Coordinates music and video, and works with the pastor to implement a meaningful contemporary worship experience.  As a member of the Ministries staff, will be a team player, and support SUMC’s mission and vision in its student ministries to encourage and challenge them in their spiritual growth and service to others, and contemporary worship to provide authentic encounter with God’s presence.
