POSITION – Worship/Arts Director
Scope and Responsibility
Recruit, develop, train, equip, and educate musicians, vocalists and production volunteers.
Weekly music rehearsals for both singers and musicians. The media department will also be part of your weekly rehearsal so that all components of the worship service can be tested and adjusted before our Sunday morning and Wednesday night services.
Create and communicate set lists, we strive to have a 4 week list done at a time along with rehearsal cd's, charts and chords given to singers and musicians so we can always be working ahead.
Create and communicate office volunteer schedules and work lists.
Navigate and lead through difficult decisions.
Lead Worship Experiences
Know and engage with the audience, we are a very diverse congregation and our goal is to speak everyone’s “musical language” so that we worship God in unity.
Create an environment where the audience participates. Worship is not a performance or show. Song choice is key to maintaining audience participation. We try to always provide songs that all singers can be part of.
Create pre/post service atmospheres; this is something that you will need to work with the Technical Director on. Each quarter we like to change the stage, lighting, color scheme on the stage.
Collaborate with the Team
Be a team player, be willing to bend. It is not about the team of me, but the team of We.
Develop a creative team that works to develop engaging environments with specific themes
Work with other staff members to layout service elements
Maintain and troubleshoot music and production equipment i.e. sound, lighting, video equipment
Willing to go beyond job responsibilities, at times we all have to jump in and help each other succeed.
Develop Multiple Musician and Vocal Teams
We measure success not by how much you can do, but by the teams you build and the strength of those teams. We expect the music department to consist of various front line teams, that can help lead out during worship. Currently our musicians are paid, however
we would like to move away from this. We would like to have more congregant members join the band and use their talents and abilities. It is important to have more than one person on each instrument so in the case of sickness, work or vacation the service
is not affected.
Support the Vision of Echos of Faith
We lead by example, it is important for other ministry leaders and congregant members to see you and your family being actively involved in the life of the church. We expect our staff to attend all regular and specially scheduled services. To support our
Men’s and Women’s main events (3 a year), if you have children; keeping them involved in Kingdom Kids Children’s Ministry is important and likewise with Resonate Youth Ministry. Being involved helps develop and nurture strong relationships with other congregant
and Ministry leaders. We also have Tuesday night prayer each week from 7-8 PM and we encourage ministry leaders to attend at least once a month preferable twice. The first Tuesday night of each month is our Ministry night of prayer, each ministry and their
volunteers gather in the sanctuary to be led into worship by the Music Director and team and we spend time praying for one another.
