We are seeking a strong leader with the ability to cast vision, as well as plan and implement innovative ministry relevant to today’s youth and their parents. Passion and skills to oversee and develop staff and lay leadership that will be committed to helping
youth establish deep roots of faith is paramount. Applicant must demonstrate enthusiasm and strong work ethic.
It is expected that the candidate will have an unwavering commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated through personal Christian maturity. Someone with significant experience in youth ministry leadership and with at least a BA in youth ministry as a related
discipline is preferred.

The Lead Youth Pastor is responsible for leading Walnut Hill’s Student Ministries (students in grades 7-12) in order to fully realize its part in the mission of the church:
“In Jesus, Called Together, Being Transformed, Changing our World.” Working with campus pastors, he/she is accountable for the oversight and direction of all youth staff (paid), volunteers, students, and programs across all five, as well as future, campuses
with the goal of instilling Walnut Hill’s values of praying, living, giving, and loving. Programs include, but are not limited to, Sunday morning youth worship services (including curriculum oversight and teaching responsibilities), all small groups, retreats,
short-term service and outreach projects, local service and outreach opportunities, and special events.
The Lead Youth Pastor will take the lead role in building appropriate teams, across campuses, to ensure that students are loved and ministered to, that clear vision is cast for the ministry, and that programs are implemented to achieve the mission.
In particular, this person will be responsible for ministry planning, program/curriculum selection and development, volunteer recruitment, training and communication, staff management and development, parent communication and partnership, special event planning
and community outreach. He/she is also responsible for partnering with other staff members and pastoral leadership of Walnut Hill.

- Unwavering commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated through Christian maturity.
- Commitment to the doctrinal stances of Walnut Hill Community Church.
- Calling and passion to see youth transformed into Christlikeness.
- B.A. or Masters in area of Youth Ministry, Biblical/Theological Studies or other related discipline preferred.
- Significant experience in youth ministry leadership preferred.
- Proven leadership gifts and skills – balance of visionary gifts with strength in implementation, self-starter, enthusiastic, hard working, proven ability to motivate and build relationships with others.
- Strength and passion for directing and ministering through others who have a passion for ministering to youth and their families; team player.
- Ability to initiate creative ministry in age-appropriate ways; innovative; cutting edge; risk taker.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
