Job Description:

Position:  Tech Arts Director

Vision:  Provide leadership to the technical teams and resources across our local network of churches to effectively execute weekend services and special events in alignment with our mission, vision & values




Develop & implement a best in class ministry model to support technical needs across multiple campuses which includes all aspects of audio, video, lighting, and staging components in a direct and indirect reporting environment

  • Create clear rules of engagement and roles & responsibilities across campuses & departments
  • Ensure all values & objectives related to weekend services are supported and executed with excellence
  • Develop learning systems & culture to share best practices across all campuses
  • Recruit, develop & lead specialized technical staff and volunteer teams
  • Ensure excellent stewardship/management of all technical equipment and resources
  • Develop & manage budget process in support of shared services model

  • Maintains a consistent devotional time with God
  • Maintains personal prayer / accountability group
  • Maintains a healthy balance in schedule while meeting high demands of weekend responsibilities
  • Understands it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry.  Those who serve God on staff at Mariners Church are expected to embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle both public and personal, and sign the Leadership Commitment agreement.

Agrees with and lives out the vision and values of Mariners Church and adheres to the guidelines and conditions for employment as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Other Ministry Responsibilities:

  • Participates in monthly all church staff meetings and weekly story time
  • Participates in Rooted & Life Groups 


  • Reports to Network Optimization Pastor
  • Works closely with Communications, IT, Worship & Experience leaders and teams 
  • Oversees large F/T & P/T technical staff and voluntees
  • Proven technical experience and knowledge in audio, lighting and video systems
  • Highly developed trouble shooting and system design skills
  • Demonstrates strong and growing walk with Christ
  • Strong spiritual leader and shepherd who is able to build effective staff & volunteer teams
  • Strong inter-personal, relational & management skills
  • Passion for learning with a proven ability to lead and navigate change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled at developing collaborative teams and partnerships
  • Ability to see ‘big picture’ and think/operate strategically
  • Able to develop and implement systems in support of vision
  • Demonstrated servant’s heart
