Christ Community Church is a non-denominational church in the western suburbs of Chicago. 


The primary responsibility of this position is to lead and engage children in meaningful, age-appropriate worship in large group environments during KidsWorld services, programs and events.  This individual will utilize methods that help kids connect to God, to His Word, and to His Church, and which support and incorporate the values of the KidsWorld ministry.  As part of this role, this individual is also responsible for developing a process for recruiting and training volunteers into gift-based areas of ministry, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of various Creative Arts materials for the three regional campuses.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a member of the lead team to assist in the ongoing development, coordination and implementation of the mission and strategy of children’s ministries
  •  Assists other teams (when appropriate) with events containing a worship component


  • Provides leadership in the areas of worship and music for all large group venues at the St. Charles campus which includes, but is not limited to: assisting with preparing song arrangements; distributing materials to worship teams; developing, scheduling, and providing leadership for worship rehearsals; personally leading worship through singing, playing instruments, leading bands and vocal teams
  •  Provides oversight and leadership for all technical aspects of large group environments including computers, sound, lighting, cameras and set design/construction for large group environments; serves as Producer for weekend services and special events
  • Selects/creates media resources, such as video and graphics, to support large group programming (i.e. countdowns, bumper videos, moving backgrounds); assists with other graphic design and video production projects as needed
  • Creates various worship resources such as songs, CD’s and DVD’s, in support of ongoing ministry and special events
  • Coordinates the children’s choir and children’s vocal team-which includes: parent communications, schedules, rehearsals and event direction, as well as group oversight on-stage and behind the scenes
  •  Recruits/develops a team of capable large-group communicator for K-5th programming in the KidsWorld Theater
  • Serves as the liaison between the Creative Arts Team and KidsWorld team for any kids ’choir performances in adult services
  • Serves as a resource to help equip worship leaders at all CCC campuses


  • Develops a process for recruiting and training volunteers into gift-based areas of ministry, including first serve opportunities
  • Implements and oversees a process for the care, appreciation and spiritual growth of the worship, vocal and tech volunteers 


  • Regular & Ongoing- leading worship, evangelism, shepherding/discipleship, serving periodically as ministry staff on-call, and counseling/care to same gender students or families needing help
  • As needed/directed- weddings, funerals, baptism, baby dedications, serving communion, missions trips   

 Job Requirements: 

  • 2+ years experience in leading worship and technical production preferred; ability to play instrument(s) and read music
  • Evidence of a passion for evangelism and children
  • Experience recruiting, creating, developing, and deploying volunteer teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for use in a variety of settings
  • Detail oriented, good editing, writing, punctuation and proofreading skills necessary
  • Flexibility in scheduled work hours based upon special events and regular weekend services
  • Key spiritual gifts of creative worship, administration, leadership and evangelism
  • Availability to participate in missions related ministry opportunities
  • Willingness to commit in membership to Christ Community Church within first 12 months of employment
  • Ability to fulfill the physical, mental and emotional requirements of the position, and work within the necessary work environments, as listed in the attached ADA task list, which is considered an addendum to this job description
