The Family Church (TFC) is a dynamic, externally-focused, interdenominational community church located in a growth area on the west side of Gainesville, Florida. TFC has a strong vision and track record for reaching both the unchurched and the dechurched,
building up believers, and impacting the world for Christ.
After 10 years of faithful service as TFC’s Senior Pastor, Max Wilkins is transitioning to his new role as President of the Mission Society. TFC is searching for the candidate to follow him in a seamless and fruitful transition to become TFC’s new Senior
Pastor. Vanderbloemen is conducting the search for Max Wilkins' successor, which you can read about here.
Simultaneously to its Senior Pastor search, The Family Church is searching for an Associate Pastor for Youth to give vision and strategic direction for the TFC’s overall Student Ministry. The Associate Pastor for Youth is expected to think strategically
about evangelistic growth of the student ministry as a whole while continually developing both student and adult leaders and maintaining relationships with students and their parents.
The Student Ministry is in a time of transition, so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and mold it within the broader vision of the church. The Associate Pastor for Youth will be the primary communicator at Sunday gatherings as well
as the champion for development of community through small groups. The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator both interpersonally and in teaching in large and small settings. He will be an effective builder of ministries and developer of
leaders. The church desires to see the Student ministry grow and serve, not only inside the church, but also out in their community together.
Home to the University of Florida – the largest and oldest university in the state – as well as Santa Fe State College, Gainesville is a hub of education and culture. Perhaps due to its strong student population, the city is also at the heart of independent
music in Florida, having produced numerous musical acts from a variety of genres. The natural surroundings, including parks, lakes, and the adjacent Payne’s Prairie State Reserve provide a green getaway from the bustle of city life. The greater Gainesville
area was ranked as the #1 place to live in North America in the 2007 edition of Cities Ranked and Rated. Also in 2007, Gainesville was ranked as one of the "best places to live and play" in the United States by National Geographic Adventure. With outstanding
schools, a low cost of living along with a high quality of life, Gainesville is undoubtedly a great place to live and raise a family.
