Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA a multicultural congregation serving over 4,000 people with 12 worship services at 4 campuses seeks a Pastor of Women’s Ministry.
Background: Grace Chapel was founded in Lexington, MA over 60 years ago and has always taken very seriously the responsibility God has given us to live out the Great Commission. We’re a vibrant, multicultural church serving greater Boston and the region. Our typical Sunday now brings over 4,000 together in our 12 worship services at four different campuses. The Elders and Staff of Grace Chapel believe strongly that God has gifted both men and women to lead in the church and we have a long history of women serving as ordained pastors and leading, preaching and teaching in various areas of the overall church ministry.
Women’s Ministry (WM) has had a very significant, 25+ year legacy at Grace Chapel and helped shape the church, fueled growth, and been a major engine for both discipleship and outreach. The strong reputation of WM at Grace is well-known throughout New England and around the country. Over 500 women per week are discipled through our Joy Bible studies and Mom to Mom ministry each year. Many hundreds more attend our conferences and other programs and events. The lives of thousands of women outside the church have been touched over the years through outreach events, and invitations to programs from friends, neighbors and colleagues at Grace Chapel. Hundreds, if not thousands, of women have been supported one-on-one over the years through personal, pastoral counseling ministry.
Objective: Following 25 years of leading this ministry, our Pastor of Service and Women’s Ministry is now retiring. We recognize that it is never possible to find a direct replacement for someone with such a strong legacy. Our objective is to recruit the next pastor who can (1) be a strong pastor/leader on our staff; (2) take on leadership of the most effective elements of today’s WM, continuing to engage and empower its numerous active participants; (3) relate naturally with the next generation of women – single and married – who may not have a strong connection with today’s WM offerings; and (4) discern and cast vision for the next chapter of Women’s Ministry at Grace Chapel.
