The story of Park Community Church (Park) stands as a powerful illustration of God’s faithfulness, provision, and grace. For over 25 years, the Lord has taken their story and transformed it into a way of telling His story. Park Community Church believes that as part of seeing the city renewed, God has called Park to see 1% of the city of Chicago (27,000 people) connected into Biblical community at Park. In addition, Park Community Church also believes that God has called them to work together with the Chicago Partnership for Church Planting (CPCP) and other strategic partners to see at least one vibrant, Gospel-centered church in every one of Chicago's 277 micro-neighborhoods. Park Community Church is intentional about reaching Chicago for Jesus.

As part of its vision to reach Chicagoland, Park Community Church is hiring a Teaching Pastor who will teach often on weekends and could be at any one of the campuses on a given weekend. In this role, the Teaching Pastor will serve as an inspiring, culturally minded and authentically Biblical communicator. This position reports to the Lead Pastor, Jackson Crum, who will remain the primary communicator, visionary, and provider of overall leadership to the church. The Teaching Pastor must be able to focus significant energy throughout the week to prayerfully studying God’s word, in preparation to deliver excellent weekend messages, as well as be an intricate part of an area of ministry (to be determined based upon candidates giftings).

The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a large multi-cultural, multi-campus, and diverse church culture where relationships, authenticity, integrity, and loyalty are critical. Consistent, quality teaching is imperative. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached, working within an urban community, and creativity through team collaboration. The ideal candidate will hold a master's level theological degree from an accredited college or university.

Chicago is the third most populous city in the United States, after New York City and Los Angeles, with 2.7 million residents.  The city's waterfront location and nightlife has attracted residents and tourists alike. The city has many upscale dining establishments as well as many ethnic restaurant districts. The River North Gallery District features the nation's largest concentration of contemporary art galleries outside of New York City. Upscale shopping along the Magnificent Mile and State Street, thousands of restaurants, as well as Chicago's eminent architecture, continue to draw tourists. The city is the United States' third-largest convention destination. A 2011 study by Walk Score ranked Chicago the fourth most walkable of fifty largest cities in the United States. Chicago has professional sports teams in each of the major professional leagues (Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox and Bears).
