Youth Ministry Pastor Job Posting
CEFC is a growing Bible based contemporary church of 1,100 in Carlisle PA, and is affiliated with the EFCA (EFCA.org). The church strives to be Christ focused in all that we do and intentional about outreach and discipleship.
We are searching for a Youth Pastor who is gifted in leadership, has a track record of success in a leadership setting, and can relate to and teach Biblical truths to teens while exhibiting exceptionally strong Christian character.
The primary purpose of the Youth Ministry Pastor is to introduce young people to Christ and to disciple those who know Christ into strong believers with a solid Biblical knowledge and heart for Jesus. This will be accomplished with the help of a volunteer
leadership team comprised of adults and students.
The Youth Pastor also assists parents in raising their teenagers to be spiritually prepared for adulthood so they will have the spiritual formation needed to be able to live all of life for Christ in today’s culture.
The right Youth Pastor candidate for CEFC will have the spiritual gifts of leadership and teaching with a proven track record of success in leading other leaders in some previous leadership role. The candidate should be proactive and a self-starter, be able
to multi-task, show wisdom in dealing with students, be teachable and open to feedback and be a match doctrinally.
He will be able to recruit, train and lead a youth ministry leadership team to accomplish the goals of the ministry. He should possess excellent personal character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leaders set forth in 1 Timothy 3 and
2 Timothy 2.
He will be able to teach God’s word in compelling Bible based, Christ centered and relevant ways to teens and will be able to design and implement impactful offsite events, such as retreats, in addition to overseeing our Sunday morning and Wednesday evening
The Youth Pastor will have strong interpersonal skills, and a healthy sense of humor. He must be passionate about Christ and his people, and have a strong desire to see the unchurched find and develop a personal relationship with Jesus.
The ideal candidate will have formal Bible and ministry training from an accredited seminary or Bible college with a degree in Theology, Christian Education or Youth Ministry, and should be willing to pursue licensing if not already licensed or ordained.
If he does not hold a graduate level degree in a related ministry field, he should be willing to pursue this on a part time basis while employed full time.
The average weekly work week of 45 hours will be generally broken out as follows:
- Leadership Development – 35%
- Teaching and Preparation for Teaching – 30%
- Program Development Oversight – 20%
- Administration – 15%
