Kentwood Community Church (KCC) values diversity, evident in the eclectic gathering of people on the weekends and throughout the week. Attendees come from a broad variety of socio-economic backgrounds and are a blend of many races and cultures. What brings them all together is the desire to experience authentic relationships, unconditional love, and growth in their relationship with Jesus Christ. KCC is connected to the Wesleyan denomination of churches. Kentwood Community Church aspires to reach all people, engage the community, awaken spiritual growth, and launch everyone into service. Its mission is to obey Christ by reaching out to those who are spiritually lost and raising up fully devoted followers of Christ who love God completely and others unconditionally.

The Children’s Pastor will provide leadership and oversight to the Children’s Ministry experiences and volunteers at Kentwood Community Church. This role will create and articulate the vision for expressions of the Children’s Ministry (birth- 5th grade) at Kentwood in a way that supports the church’s vision, community ethos, and values. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the Children’s Ministry staff, and volunteers as well as the rest of the staff at Kentwood to create an experience on Sundays for kids and their families that kids would call the “best day of their week”. This individual will be an essential part of the professional ministry staff team and will play a vital role in the accomplishment of the church’s vision to impact children and families within the church and community.

The Children's Pastor will have a bachelor’s degree in ministry and at least five years of leadership experience in a large church children’s ministry and/or spiritual formation environment. They must be willing to pursue pastoral licensing and ordination with the Wesleyan denomination. The Children's Pastor will have the proven ability to recruit, train, mentor, and encourage volunteers as well as be able to recognize the attributes and skills that are necessary in working with children. Being bi-lingual in Spanish and English a plus.
