Kentwood Community Church (KCC) values diversity, evident in the eclectic gathering of people on the weekends and throughout the week. KCC is connected to the Wesleyan denomination of churches. Kentwood Community Church aspires to reach all people, engage the community, awaken spiritual growth, and launch everyone into service. Its mission is to obey Christ by reaching out to those who are spiritually lost and raising up fully devoted followers of Christ who love God completely and others unconditionally.  


The Student Ministries/High School Pastor will serve as the vision-caster and leader of the Student Ministries team. He/she will also be responsible for developing with his/her team a clear vision and goal-driven strategy for the Middle School, High School, and Young Adult ministries that aligns with the overall vision and mission of the church. While providing overall leadership to Student Ministries, he/she will be the “face” and primary communicator for High School Ministry. This person must be a leader of leaders who equips and mobilizes volunteer teams to make the ministry happen effectively. 


The Student Ministries/High School Pastor will have a bachelor’s degree in ministry and at least five years of leadership experience in a large church student ministry and/or spiritual formation environment. They will have the cultural competency in personal relationships with students and leaders from a variety of ethnicities as well as the leadership gift required to recruit and empower lay leaders and teams. They will be willing to pursue pastoral licensing and ordination through the Wesleyan denomination. Being bi-lingual in Spanish and English a plus.
