Job Description:

The Financial Assistant is a full-time hourly pay position.  This individual responsibility is to assist the Financial Administrator in the tasks of administrating and overseeing the finances of the ministry.


Reporting Relationships:

  • Report to Financial Administrator


Job Duties:

  • Key contribution from offering envelopes and bank drafts

  • Enter new contributors

  • Import online giving

  • Manage correspondence for first-time contributors and giving thru the mail

  • Follow up on return checks and drafts

  • Follow up with decline or incorrect debits envelopes

  • Reconcile receipts and returned monies from requisitions

  • Follow-up on requisitions receipts not turned in

  • Assist with counting offering from services

  • Procurement and distribution of monthly supply orders

  • Bank account reconciliation

  • Filing invoices

  • Other duties, projects, and assignments as assigned by the Financial Administrator




  • Must have two to three year of related financial/ office experience required;

  • Knowledge of purchasing;

  • Must be a detailed-oriented individual;

  • Must be able to receive directions and carry them out with minimal supervision;

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information;

  • Must have a pleasant personality and good interpersonal skills; be courteous and professional when interacting with vendors and members of the congregation;

  • Must be sensitive to the needs of people;

  • Flexibility to do other tasks and jobs that may be necessary.
