The Living Room Community Church was planted in January of 2007. The church is a non-denominational Christian church. We have grown to a weekly atendance of 700 - 1000. We are driven by the passion that we have, to share the great news of Jesus with as many people as possible using culturally, creative and contextual ways. We love what we do and are seeking staff members that are passionate, self-starters and are hungry to help us discover the depth of God's calling for loving and serving the families and children of our community. 


Position Description

Children's Pastor

 

Full Time Position
Salary - 45,000-58,000 (Depending on experience)

The Children's Pastor is responsible for the development and implementation of the vision, strategy and tactical elements for all programs, activities and educational aspects related to Children’s Ministry at The Living Room Community Church. This includes: Sunday School (Nursery-5th Grade), outreach events, Kid’s Camp and childcare, as well as a genuine commitment to the mission of The Living Room Community Church, its church family and the community.  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

Ability to fully embrace the vision, values and statement of faith of The Living Room Community Church. Must be completely supportive of the mission and leadership of The Living Room Community Church and must be willing to protect both against any negative or menacing influences.

 

Passion for ministry to children and families, seeing both parents and children grow in their faith.

 

Growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude and behavior.

 

Must be comfortable working with a diverse group of people including church staff, the church family, and members of the community. Possessing strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain healthy and motivating relationships with supervisor, coworkers, and volunteers.

 

Reliable, trustworthy, self-starter and excellent at following through on details.

Possess the ability to embrace innovation and creativity while adapting to growth and change.

 

Must have strong people and problem solving skills with ability to handle or manage conflict. Possess the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

 

Work closely with all areas of ministries within the church as appropriate.

 

Must be willing to research, problem solve and make decisions within the scope of authority.

 

Proven leadership skills utilizing a cooperative, collaborative team leadership style.

Proven expertise in administration.


Proven ability to achieve results.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Develop and implement safety and security processes for Children’s Ministry.

 

Must understand and keep current on issues related to safety and security resulting in the implementation of associated activities and safeguards as well as knowledgeable about laws and regulations pertaining to child safety and welfare.

 

Monitor and enforce guidelines established by the church regarding the safety and care of the children.

 

Supervises, directs and provides leadership to the Children’s Ministry staff.

Helps to develop and implement the vision for Children’s Ministry in collaboration with the leadership team and elders.

Provides strategic leadership and planning initiatives for Children’s Ministry staff.

Sets direction and trains Children’s Ministry staff and volunteers.

 

Oversee the Children’s Ministry staff and volunteer schedule.

Offers pastoral care and encouragement of Children’s Ministry staff and volunteers.

Develops processes necessary for effective Children’s Ministry operations (check in, etc.)

Responsible for Children’s Ministry budget and financial oversight.

Oversee the selection and implementation of curriculum.

Develop communication process to keep staff, volunteers and parents informed.

 

Offer education of family and child development to parents and/or guardians.

Coordinate family events and camps for Children’s Ministry, parents and families.

 

Keep abreast of equipment usage and maintenance, supply inventory and environment needs.

 

Research, prepare and submit for approval to Leadership, process improvements to productivity and efficiency.

Assist with special events as required.
 

Personal Development:

Attend The Jesus Class.

Continuing education as appropriate.

  

Specific Job Skills:

Willing to be trained to access and use the church database software, People Driven Software (PDS).

  

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum of 5 years commensurate experience

 

Knowledgeable about laws and protocol pertaining to the safety and well being of young children.
